Trilogy Health Services Joins eBrief™ Early Adopter Program

Trilogy Health Services Partners with etectRx for Deployment of Novel Intelligent Incontinence Care Solution

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (September 12, 2024) – etectRx™, Inc. (etectRx™), a privately held health sensor platform company, today announced an eBrief Early Adopter Program (EAP) partnership with Trilogy Health Services, a senior care communities thought leader and provider. eBrief™ is specifically engineered to mitigate the indignity and adverse health consequences associated with incontinence while enhancing the caregiving staff’s efficiency and job satisfaction through real-time urinary incontinence monitoring. The EAP partnership will commence in early October 2024 at Trilogy’s Prairie Lakes Health Campus located in Noblesville, Indiana. “Trilogy is on a journey to be the Best Healthcare Company in the Midwest and being an early adopter of new technologies is an important focus for us,” said Rhonda Dempsey, Chief Nursing Officer at Trilogy. “We look forward to this partnership with etectRx as a way to affect both the efficiency of our caregivers and the comfortable lifestyle of the residents who call Prairie Lakes home.”

In the United States, over half of senior residents suffer from incontinence, a condition posing significant health risks like falls, wounds, UTIs, and pressure ulcers. The condition also contributes to significant workforce challenges for senior care communities. A 2022 McKnights article reported that Certified Nursing Assistants spend 56% of their shift on incontinence care, impacting the 96% of senior care communities with staffing shortages. “We are thrilled to introduce a groundbreaking change for monitoring senior incontinence,” said Scott Kozimor, VP of Sales and Marketing at etectRx. “Our solution will not only mitigate health risks for our most vulnerable generation but also offer unprecedented support to caregivers, setting a new standard of care and compassion for our elderly loved ones.”

The breakthrough eBrief™ Intelligent Incontinence Monitoring System offers remote, real-time urinary incontinence monitoring through a small, disposable, battery-free moisture sensor embedded in standard adult incontinence products. When the incontinence product nears its absorption capacity, the eBrief™ sensor sends a low-power signal to a fixed reader, installed in the residents’ rooms. The reader communicates an alert to the system’s care dashboard installed in point-of-care locations and notifies staff when a resident’s brief needs to be changed. This alleviates the time-consuming and undignified process of manually checking the residents’ briefs and reduces the time a resident is exposed to a wet brief.

Holly Snyder, Executive Director of Prairie Lakes Health Campus, expressed her enthusiasm for the eBrief™ System: “We’re very excited to introduce eBrief™ to our community and look forward to a successful partnership with etectRx!” Echoing this sentiment, Eric Buffkin, CEO of etectRx, stated, “We are confident that this partnership will yield exceptional results, benefiting not only Trilogy’s residents and staff but also enhancing the well-being of their communities. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for senior care.”
